I thought some suggestions of add-ons to OS X might be useful:
1. OS X does not have an uninstall like Windows XP, etc, but a very useful application is AppCleaner, available at
www.freemacsoft.net/AppCleaner/, which allows you to uninstall all traces of any programme installed on your Mac.
2. Cyberduck has to be the easiest and slickest way of connecting to remote servers ever. It allows stored configurations to manage multiple website hosts. You'll find it at
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...cyberduck.html
3. Perian is a free, open source QuickTime component that adds native support for many popular video formats. Described as the Swiss Army Knife of apps - this one is indispensible. It's at
www.perian.org/
4. Lastly, stay away from early versions of Audacity - it will kill your native sound setting and leave you demented. The current ver is 1.3.6 and does work as intended. It is available at
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/ Probably the best recorder in the world as they say at Carlsberg!
